Ardhagiri is a hill where the Hanuman temple is located. The hill is situated in Aragonda village of Chittoor district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.The name Ardhagiri came from an incident related to Tretayuga , when Lord Hanuman was transporting Ddronagiri Mmountain (mountain that consists of herbs for life),. inatSince it was night time Bbharat , brother of lord Rram thought that some one is throwing the mountain on them is going to hurt;he immediately he shot an arrow on hHanuman. Due to its effect, half of the mountain fell down at this place and hence, the name Ardhagiri . Iwhich in the local language, it means Half Mountain (Ardhra=half, giri=mountain). From then, people started worshipping hHanuman in the name of vVeera aAnjaneya swamy. Many people, till today, come from all over India the world to collect the medicated water in the pond, besides to the temple. It is believed that Tthe clay in the mountain contains many medicinal properties and has a power to cure many types of skin problems. The water in the pond comes from different places from the mountain, touching many roots of medicinal plants.[The village Aragonda also is named after

Kanipakam is a small mini town in Irala mandal, located in Chittoor district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.  Kanipakam is situated at a distance of 11 km from Chittoor city on Chittoor-Irala road.  Kanipakam is home to a popular Hindu temple of Lord Ganesha called as Kanipakam Vinayaka Temple .  It was constructed in the early 11th century ACE by the pPandian King Maravarman Sundarapandian and a sSiva temple was constructed by Kulothunga Chola I and was expanded further in 1336 by the Emperors of Vijayanagara dynasty.
