Starting out
- Total Health conducted a household survey in Aragonda, documenting the health and economical needs of the residents.
- A vocational training centre was set up, initiating about 30 women into tailoring.
2014
Health & hygiene take priority
- Mobile clinic services began, ensuring doorstep medical care for villages in the Thavanampalle Mandal.
- Nutrition centres for mothers and children were established.
- A kitchen garden was set up at the Total Health complex and saplings distributed from it to the community.
- Aragonda got Total Health’s first potable water plant.
- A yoga programme for the community was started in Aragonda.
2015
Health infrastructure is put in place
- Total Health conducted a pioneering household survey in Aragonda, documenting the demographic, economic and health status of the residents and assessing their needs.
- Our medical camps branched out to school health, cancer screening, and eye screening.
- The AYUSH wing of Total Health began its services.
- The jute bag manufacturing unit at the Total Health complex was started.
- The Geriatric Nutrition Centre was initiated, to feed senior citizens in need.
- Rural electrification was taken up by providing solar street lamps to Aragonda gram panchayat.
- The distribution of family health cards for residents began, so they could avail themselves of 30% discount in treatment.
2016
We find recognition
- The second satellite clinic was established in Thavanampalle.
- Bags, books, and desks were distributed to Aragonda zilla parishad high schools.
- Total Health bagged the Best CSR Solution of the Year at the Indian ISV Award, 2016; the Indywood Excellence Award for CSR, 2016; and Making of Developed India Award, 2016.
2017
Small additions go a long way
- The 2 flagship skilling programmes were started: apparel training for women and refrigeration and air conditioning training for young men.
- A diabetes detection drive was conducted on the people who had been detected with prediabetes in the first survey, and a portion of those who tested with diabetes brought under care.
- A school beautification initiative was undertaken by white washing walls of 3 government schools in Aragonda gram panchayat.
2018
Innovative solutions to local problems
- Under the AP Horticulture Department, Total Health started a polyhouse in Aragonda.
- An Elderly Day Care centre at Aragonda was inaugurated with facilities of indoor games, TV, and a newspaper reading room.
2019
Setting up collaborations
- Total Health came under the Arogya Rakshak programme, with support from Reckitt, to contribute to the Dettol Banega Swasth India campaign.
2020
Awareness and expansion
- Total Health expanded its healthcare model to the Amrabad Tiger Reserve.
- Covid awareness and hygiene awareness drives were carried out and rations were provided to those in need.
2021
Involving the community
- Total Health set up Covid isolation centres.
- Total Health held free vaccination drives for both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine in Aragonda.
- The Total Health satellite clinic was inaugurated in Mannaur.
- In Amrabad, Arrjava Warriors were trained from the Chenchu community so they could provide basic first aid deep within the forest.
- A skill centre was set up in Amrabad to provide employment and alternative sources of revenue for the Chenchu tribespeople.
- Maps of the Amrabad Tiger Reserve were drawn up to identify the resource patches, wildlife corridors and activities triggering forest degradation.
2022
THRIVING TOGETHER
- Total Health expanded to Irala mandal with a mobile and satellite clinic benefitting 36,029 people, and initiated Sunday clinics and evening clinics in Aragonda for the ease of access for the community.
- Conducted gynecological screening camp for 1000 new mothers, pregnant women and forest frontline workers.
- Total Health has expanded its program to assess the mental health/function of beneficiaries categorized as moderate to severe.
- A new kitchen was built at Apollo Isha Vidyalaya for midday meals for 750 children.
- Established India's first Hygiene Play Park, an innovative initiative that allowed us to deliver hygiene education to 520 schools, resulting in reduced absenteeism.
- In August, Total Health initiated its volunteering program in Amrabad and Aragonda, providing over 50 volunteers with a transformative experience of rural living.
- Partnering with the Government of Andhra Pradesh, Total Health took a collaborative approach to distribute nutrition kits to TB patients undergoing treatment.
- Total Health renews contract with WWF to provide medical aid, including free treatment, to India's forest frontline workers, ensuring their well-being and safety in people-wildlife conflicts and job-related hazards.
2023
HOLISTIC IMPACT
- Total Health was honored with the prestigious Mahatma Award for Social Good & Impact, acknowledging its dedication to holistic community well-being.
- It was recognized by the World Bank and qualified for the BigTech Donations Program in collaboration with Nasscom Foundation.
- It received letters of appreciation from the Chittoor Mayor and District Education Officer for its WASH initiatives.
- It was recognized for outstanding services in the TB Mukt Bharat Program, reaching 600 beneficiaries according to the Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
- The WASH pillar saw tremendous engagement in the past year, impacting a total of 122,088 individuals, including 104,076 school students.
- The community engagement pillar significantly increased participation through the inclusion of community sports, impacting 17,414 individuals.
- U. Dinesh, a young boy from the Chenchu Community, secured a top 15 position in the Dettol Hygiene Olympiad 2.0, organized with Reckitt, out of 30 million participants nationwide.
